Orthodontic Dental Assistant 

Job-Type: Full-time

Do you enjoy working in a fast paced team environment? Our busy orthodontic practice is searching for a dedicated, committed, professional and experienced Dental Assistant who can assist during patient appointments. We need someone who can perform basic orthodontic procedures, such as adjustments, take x-rays, and maintain patient records with utmost confidentiality. The ideal candidate for this position should preferably have an orthodontic background and experience working with patients of all ages. 

Responsibilities and duties: 
  • Prepare examination rooms, sterilizing instruments, and moving equipment into place
  • Update and maintain patient dental records
  • Perform routine orthodontic procedures
  • Provide support support to the orthodontic and clinical staff as needed
  • Offer patients advice and materials necessary to maintain good dental health during treatment 
  • Prevent the spread of infection and disease by maintaining a clean work environment
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned
Qualifications and skills:
  • Successful completion of a dental assistant licensing program as per state guidelines. Certified Orthodontic Assistant credential is a plus
  • At least 1 year as an Orthodontic Assistant required
  • Must have reliable transportation, be willing to and able to travel to different locations in the Tampa Bay area
  • Comprehensive understanding of dental and orthodontic instruments and materials 
  • Exceptional customer service skills and team oriented
  • Basic knowledge of orthodontic software
  • Bilingual is a plus (Spanish)
Experience:
  • Dental Assisting: 1 year (preferred)
